Hey, hey, hey! It's time for the big reveal of my closet renovation project! I've been working on this bad boy for what feels like forever, but it's finally finished and I'm absolutely in love with it.
About darn time. It's been 6 months! As always, if you're new here and want to check out the whole saga check out the closet playlist below.
First things first, let's talk about the color. I went with a beautiful shade of teal that perfectly captures that beachy, coastal vibe I was going for. It's light and airy, but still adds a pop of color to the room. And let me tell you, painting this thing was no small feat. I may have gotten a little ahead of myself with the paint sprayer (more on that in a minute), but in the end, it was totally worth it.
Now, let's talk about the dresser. I decided to go with a crisp white finish for the drawers and top, which really makes the teal pop even more. I experimented with a few different stains and washes, but in the end, the white was the way to go. And the drawer pulls! Don't even get me started on those. I spent hours searching for the perfect ones, and I think I nailed it (pun intended).
One of the trickiest parts of this project was adding the trim to the little alcove in the closet. I used a small lattice trim and some miter shears to get the perfect fit, and I have to say, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. It's those little details that really make a space feel complete, you know?
Now, let's talk about the paint sprayer incident. I thought I was being all fancy and efficient by using a paint sprayer to prime the closet, but boy was I wrong. There was paint dust everywhere, my eyes were burning, and it was just an all-around nightmare. Lesson learned: stick to the good old-fashioned paint brush and roller for indoor projects. It may take longer, but it's a lot less messy and easier to control.
Overall, I'm so happy with how this project turned out. It's been a labor of love, but the end result is exactly what I was hoping for. And now, onto the next project!
I am planning on replacing the round mirror, but it will take a little bit to get in. The paint didn't take to this one well, but it works for the meantime.
Either way, time to move everything in! And the Spring ORC starts on Wednesday... no time to rest, onto the next!!
TOODLES!
